We have been asked to assist in rehoming three 12 week old female lurcher pups – mother is a whippet and father is a small lurcher. These are lovely gentle dogs and are to be rehomed as pets only – *NOT* working dogs

Rosie and Manny are now with the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Dog Rescue, who have been able to find them a suitable foster carer much to their owners’ relief.

Rosie is a female dwarf German Shepherd, meaning that she is the size of a German Shepherd pup, in good health and innoculated up to date, who is four and a half years old and neutered.  Rosie originally came from an animal rescue centre three years ago and had clearly suffered abuse in her former home.  We were told that her former owners had split up after a volatile relationship.  As a consequence, Rosie will run out of a room on hearing raised voices, is afraid of being hurt, and she is slow to trust strangers.  She is a very pretty dog.  Wherever she go, people ask what she is and comment on how beautiful she is.  Rosie requires an experienced dog owner who really loves dogs to give her the reassurance and affection she requires.  Rosie is very fond of her little brother, Manny, who has always kept her company, and it would be best that they are rehomed together.  Rosie is capable of climbing over three feet fencing, so requires a secure garden.  Rosie can be competitive with other bitches.

Manny is a three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier-Toy Poodle cross, who for this mix unusually sheds.  He has been neutered, is in good health and his innoculations are up to date.  Manny is a confident little character, who loves cuddles, is very affectionate, and needs plenty of affection in return.  Manny loves to play ball and is of a very happy disposition.  He is particularly attached to his big sister Rosie, who he has lived with all his life.  Manny requires a secure garden, as he likes to find his way through the smallest of gaps!

Rosie and Manny are both house trained.  They have been comfortable being left at home between 8am and 3:30pm on weekdays, having each other’s company, as long as they spend their evenings in the company of people and are regularly let out.  They love walks, although their enthusiasm encourages them to pull on their leads, and Rosie is quite strong.  Until they have come to settle fully into their new home, they are best walked on leads.  Neither dogs have grown up around small children or cats, so might be best homed without cats or young children.  They are a beautiful and loving pair of dogs who would make wonderful pets in the right, caring home.

Sadly a change in their owners circumstance means he has taken the difficult decision to find a new home for them, if you can help please get in touch.

Benjie is approx 1yr old Rottweiler (possible slight cross!!) He was tied up with a note around his neck saying ‘free to good home’ by some heartless previous owner (see picture taken in pound) Benjie is very affectionate but we think he may have been ill treated by a man as he appears to be more comfortable around women He is good with cats and other dogs and is beginning to learn how to play – a new experience for him! Benjie was rescued from the pound before being put to sleep as an unclaimed unwanted stray. Benjie has a lot to offer a new owner so for more information please get in touch.

*Poor Prince is back in rescue – a member of his new family developed an allergy so he has had to come back to us – through absolutely no fault of his own.*

How beautiful is Prince? He is approximately a 7 month old Akita x lab and seems to have inherited the best of both breeds, and I don’t just mean he gorgeous curly tail! This young boy is so kind and gentle and yet has a real presence about him. He carries himself so perfectly he turns heads wherever you go.

Prince is highly intelligent and energetic so would benefit from an experienced doggie home that could further his education and give him the stimulation that he so craves.

He walks very well on the lead and will only pull when excited by another dog. I havent walked him off lead yet but his previous owners always had him off lead and said he was very good with a great re-call. I will keep his profile updated as I find out more.

He is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Would be best not to home him with young children as he can be slightly nervous and does sometimes jump up when excited. He really enjoys doggie company so would love to live with other dogs.

Harvey is approximately 9 months old and is a GSD x (possibly border terrier judging by his grizzle nose!!) Wonderfully natured dog. Very loving. Obedient will sit, lay down and give his paw. Good with other dogs – loves to play! Fleaed, wormed and microchipped. Neutering arranged.

We are helping our friends at Moor View Rescue find a new home for Misty who is a bullmastif of approx 12 months old. She is very quiet, good with other dogs and very affectionate. Rolo is a 4yr old chocolate labrador. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Rolo is good with other dogs and currently lives with a cat. He is good on the lead although can be strong and has excellent recall. Rolo loves people and adores children. He would suit an active family with someone around most of the time as he enjoys lots of cuddles and long walks! Rolo is a typical labrador – very greedy with a big personality! Rolo’s current owners are reluctantly having to rehome him due to ill health and lack of time.

He is a gentle giant who is presently living with six other dogs and five cats. He is very gentle and loves people including children. He will make a perfect pet. Ben is a 4yr old Jack Russell. He is a bit overweight and needs some exercise! Ben was handed in at the vets as unwanted due to his elderly owner going into care. Fortunately that veterinary practice don’t put a healthy dog to sleep and rang us. Ben is a lovely affectionate little dog and gets on well with other dogs

Red is approx 1yr old and is a beautiful red coloured labrador. He is very good natured and loves people and other dogs. He enjoys playing with doggie friends and has good recall. He is fully housetrained, non-destructive and very very affectionate. Red was greatly underweight when he came into the rescue – with some TLC and a good diet he is proving to be a stunning looking dog

Holly is approx an 8 month old Jack Russell cross. She was a bit excited when her picture was being taken and found it hard to stay still so the pictures don’t do her justice!! She is so pretty in the flesh!! She is a lovely little dog – obedient, housetrained, good natured and loves being cuddled. With her only being small she is not a problem on the lead – she pulls a bit at first and then settles down – so with a bit of training the intital pulling could stop! She is good with other dogs. Barks when people come to the door but will stop if you say ‘no’

She is currently being fostered with an 18mth old child and a chinchilla! She is great with the little boy and she shows no interest in the chinchilla so we are fairly confident that she would be fine with other small furries!!

Gilly is an 8 month old lab x staffie. Quite a small dog that is very loving and affectionate, she would suit a family that would have time to play and interact with her.. House trained and obedient would benefit from going to training class.. Gilly is good with other dogs.

What a super little man Jack is with a lovely nature. He is good with people and other dogs but we don’t know about cats.

Jacks owner had to go into residential care and as his family couldn’t look after Jack he was handed into the local authority pound where if he couldn’t be found a home in seven days he was looking at being destroyed. Fortunately the owner of the pound contacted one of our volunteers who was able to foster him and he only had to spend one night there. He is now looking for a forever home where he will be safe and sound for the rest of his days.

Jack is used to living with an elderly gentleman as an only dog and we feel he would prefer the quieter life rather than a hectic young family life, he enjoys company and does have some separation anxiety which the current fosterer is working on.
Would not suit a home where he is left much

Jack is a typical terrier and may have been a working dog in the past. The rescue does not advocate any of our rescue dogs being worked and therefore we are looking for a home where Jack will be stimulated and exercised a great deal. Although Jack is good with the Foster’s young children we would recommend that Jack goes to an adult only home. Jack is not good at recall and we would therefore not recommend that Jack be let off of the lead until he has been trained in this area.

Jack is 6yrs old and has been neutered, wormed, flead and chipped and is starting his vaccination program shortly.

Harvey is an 11 month old Yorkshire Terrier – up to date with vaccinations and flea and worm treatment. Harvey is good with other dogs and children. He is being reluctantly rehomed due to the owner’s change in circumstances More details to follow

Zack is an 18 month old Dalmation X. He is very friendly and loves his walks and treats. He is very good on walks, good with other dogs and enjoys playing ball. He has not lived with cats or children – however he has been good with any visiting children. Zack can be a little giddy at first but then settles down. He is a very affectionate loving dog and deserves a forever home

Barney is approximately 3 years old, and is the most lovable, affectionate and well behaved male x breed who is good with other dogs and cats. House trained and non destructive, this dog is looking for a forever home because his elderly owner has gone into Sheltered housing with a no pet policy. Barney has been fleaed, wormed and chipped and will be neutered and vaccinated on Wednesday of this week. Does not pull on the lead and is a joy to walk. Excellent recall. A very payful dog who just loves his toys.

Pip is a 10 year old collie cross – spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Good with kids over 5, does not like to be left alone (but is ok if the TV is left on for her), loves car journeys, can be trusted off leash to return when called, only needs 2 gentle walks a day, can be round dog-confident cats, but is very clever and can open pet hutches so not to be trusted with very small animals such as rabbits guinea pig’s and the like!! Her owner can no longer keep her as he has moved to sheltered accommodation that does not allow pets. Pip’s owner tell us that the vet has said that although Pip is a bit overweight with a little bit of arthritis (to be expected!) she is otherwise in good health
